UPDATED 4:13pm The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene investigating a fatality at this time.
There is a large police presence in the 200 block of South Clinton Street as officers are on the scene of a shooting at this time.
Details regarding the incident are developing, but according to preliminary reports on the scene, at least one person is suffering "life threatening injuries after gunfire erupted in the area at around 1:30 p.m.
Residents and onlookers told RLS Metro that EMS transported at least one other person to the hospital suffering non-fatal injuries after more than a half dozen shots rang out in the area.
There are unconfirmed reports that this might be a police involved shooting but no confirmation if one of the injured is a police officer.

Clinton Street from Central Avenue is closed to traffic. Please stay clear of the area for the investigation.
