Lumberton Man Charged with Possession of Explicit Images of Minors

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Lumberton Township Police Chief Anthony DiLoreto charged a Lumberton with possession of Explicit Images of Minors.

According to authorities, **Domenic J. Pereira, 26, of the 100 block of Stuyvesant Drive**, was charged April 21 with one count of endangering the welfare of children.

The investigation began in January 2017 when the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit received intelligence from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning the defendant’s online activities authorities said.

The investigation revealed that the defendant uploaded an image to his computer then attempted to email the nude photo of the pre-pubescent girl authorities said.

Police executed a search warrant at Mr. Pereira's residence on April 21st conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office, the Lumberton Township Police Department and New Jersey State Police.

Authorities confiscated a laptop computer during the search and allegedly found more than 100 videos of Explicit Images of Minors inside police said.

Police took Pereira into custody without incident at a retail store in Mount Laurel where they said he is employed.

Authorities released Mr. Pereira pending his trial, but ordered him to have no contact with children, no internet access, and no access to computers.

The allegations lodged against Mr. Pereira are allegations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
