Police in Newark are reporting that joint efforts involving the Newark Police Division’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and Scranton, PA’s F.B.I. Fugitive Task Force, had a fugitive, **Alquan Campbell, 21, of Newark**, arrested for a sexual assault that occurred on January 4, 2016.
According to Newark Police Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 5:20 a.m., a male suspect sexually assaulted a 15-year old female victim in a West Ward residence.
Director Ambrose said detectives developed evidence that Alquan Campbell is the suspect in the incident and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Detectives further determined that Campbell had fled to Scranton, PA, where he was arrested on Friday Director Ambrose said.
Police charged Cambell with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
These charges are merely accusations lodged against **Campbell**.
Mr. Campbell is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
