A judge in Passaic County sentenced former Passaic mayor Alex Blanco to more than two years in prison for taking $110,000 in bribes from developers in exchange for sending federal housing funds their way.
Blanco pleaded guilty on Nov. 17th to a charge of bribery under an agreement with the office of then-U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman, who agreed not to pursue further charges against him for his role in the scheme.
Taking Blanco's three sons developmental disability into account, Blanco was sentenced to 27 months instead of the guideline sentencing range of 46 to 57 months.
