The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that left a man dead and a child hospitalized in Jersey City on Easter Day.
Gunfire erupted in the area of Ocean and Van Nostrand avenues at around 10 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found the unidentified male suffering a fatal gunshot wound at that location.
A 10-year-old girl was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center in an unknown condition.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
This is a homicide investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
