Newark Police announced that they had arrested **Stacey Turman, 55, of Newark**, for possession of a handgun yesterday (Wednesday).
According to authorities, at approximately 9:54 a.m., police responded to a residential building at Johnson Avenue near Stratford Place on a Crime Stoppers Tip regarding a man with a gun.
Police officers observed a man fitting the description of the suspect inside the building holding a handgun authorities said.
Police took the suspect, Stacey Turman, into custody without incident and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
