An Elizabeth woman was taken into custody and charged with DUI after an early morning crash in Linden.
Accoridng to authorities, Katherine Flores, a 32 year-old female from Elizabeth, was arrested after she was involved in a single-car motor vehicle crash.
Authorities said, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Flores was traveling east on W. St. George Ave in a 2002 Toyota Camry when she lost control and collided with a utility pole near Ainswoth St.
Officers arrived on scene to find other drivers helping Flores from the vehicle, which had overturned onto its roof.
She was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released authorities said.
W. St. George Ave was closed in both directions following the crash.
It remains closed while crews work to make repairs, which are expected to continue through most of the day.
Authorities said Flores was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, possession of an open container of alcohol, and driving with a suspended license.
She was released pending a municipal court appearance on Monday, April 10, 2017.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
