Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and East Orange Public Safety Director Sheilah Coley announced today that the East Orange Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the fatal shooting of **Gregory McPherson, 26, of East Orange**.
McPherson was fatally shot in the 100 block of Lenox Avenue in East Orange on Wednesday, April 5 at approximately 9:35 p.m.
Authorities said he was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
There have been no suspects identified and no arrests made at this time authorities said.
