Police are on the search for a black male suspect who was last observed wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans when he snatched a dirt bike away from a person in the city's South Ward this evening.
The incident happened in the 100 block of Mapes Avenue, at around 5 p.m., sending police to the area where officers established a crime scene after locating at least one shell casing.
According to preliminary reports, in the process of the suspect taking the victim's yellow Yamaha dirt bike, he pulled a gun and fired off a round in the direction of the victim.
There were no physical injuries reported.
Police from surrounding municipalities have been alerted.
