Police in Elizabeth are on the search for the suspect who made off with a wheelchair that belongs to a developmentally disabled child on Tuesday evening.
The theft happened at the child's home on 2nd Street, at around 9 p.m., when a male suspect entered a gate that surrounds the home and took the wheelchair from the side of the house according to the child's mother.
The wheelchair is purple, gray, and black with butterflies on it.
The child cannot attend school until the wheelchair is returned and will take about four months to get a new chair made for her the mother said.
