Authorities in Newark are investigating an early morning strong armed robbery that occurred in the city on Friday.
Police responded to the 50's block of University Avenue at around 6 a.m. for reports of an injured person where they arrived to find the victim suffering a non-life threatening injury after being robbed then assaulted by a male suspect at that location.
The suspect reportedly took the victim's car keys and other personal items before leaving the scene in the victim's vehicle.
EMS transported the victim to the hospital for observation.
There were no arrests reported.
