A car that crashed into a building in Springfield sent two people to the hospital suffering severe injuries.
The overnight crash happened at the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Morris Avenue shortly before midnight sending emergency responders rushing to the scene where they found the overturned vehicle with occupants trapped inside.
According to officials the vehicle veered off of the roadway and struck the building before overturning.
A medivac helicopter transported the victims to University Hospital in Newark, where their injuries were reported as life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
