Authorities announced that a joint investigation by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the High Bridge Borough Police Department has led to the arrest of one individual on sexual assault charges.
According to authorities, on March 22, Mario Chacon, 42, of High Bridge, was arrested and charged with one count of 3rd degree Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of 3rd degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and one count of 4th degree Child Abuse.
An investigation by detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the High Bridge Borough Police Department revealed the crimes took place in September of 2016 and involved a child under the age of 16.
Chacon, a member of the High Bridge Rescue Squad, is currently suspended.
