Following a three-week investigation, members of the Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force and officers of the Jersey City Police Department executed a search warrant at 183 Wegman Parkway in Jersey City and arrested a Jersey City resident for the possession and distribution of heroin.
According to authorities, March 17, Narcotics Task Force Officers arrested Raymond Petway, 33, after a search of his residence led to the recovery of approximately 575 bags of heroin.
The Task Force also seized approximately $2800 in U.S. currency. A search warrant was also executed on a vehicle utilized by Petway.
Petway was charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-5; one count of Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 feet of school property in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-7; and one count of Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 feet of public property in violation of N.J.S. 2C:35-7.1.
Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the Hudson County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit for assisting with the search and arrest.
