Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who they say is responsible for a robbery of a business that occurred yesterday (Monday).
According to police, at approximately 12:24 p.m., officers responded to Broadway Gifts & Miscellaneous, located at 634 Broadway.

Police said the suspect entered the store and robbed the clerk at gunpoint of cash, several items of clothing, and cell phones.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet weighing about 180 pounds according to police.
The suspect was wearing a green hooded jacket with brown shoulders and spotted blue jeans.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from city streets.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
