An investigation into alleged prostitution at a local massage parlor led to the arrest of a New York woman.
According to police, at 3:42 p.m. Thursday, Bing Shin, 47 of Flushing, NY was charged with promoting prostitution after a several month-long investigation.
The arrest stemmed from an undercover investigation into allegations of illegal sexual activity at Madison Body and Soul located at 7 Waverly Place.
During the investigation, police confirmed that prostitution was taking place, where money was exchanged for sexual favors, while services were also advertised on backpage.com.
Undercover officers arrested Shin, an employee at the location.
Following the investigation, police seized a sum of cash, a ledger books containing past customers information, and phone records. Also present in the establishment was a surveillance system that captured customers entering and leaving the location.
The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
Shin was later released pending a Madison Municipal Court appearance.
