Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team (F.A.T.) arrested Khalil Pollard, 27, of Newark, for an aggravated assault that occurred on Thursday, February 23rd of this year.
According to authorities, at approximately 10 p.m., police responded to the 24 Supermarket, located at 444 Central Avenue, on a call of a man pointing a gun at an employee of the store after being confronted about not paying for his selections.
The suspect then fled on foot authorities said.
Detectives developed evidence that Khalil Pollard is a suspect in this aggravated assault and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Detectives located Pollard today (Sunday) and took him into custody without incident.
He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
