An investigation into a crash involving a car and a school bus in North Brunswick that injured four people - including a 6-month-old baby - has revealed that the critically injured child was not in a car seat.
According to authorities, police responded to the intersection of Carolier Lane and Route 130 North around 3 p.m. for reports of a crash involving a school bus.
Upon arrival, police found a Subaru - occupied by the driver and two others, including a 6-month-old baby - that collided with a school bus only occupied by the driver.
According to Capt. Brian Hoiberg, of the North Brunswick Police Department, the driver of the Subaru remains in serious condition, while the passenger who was initially listed in critical condition is now said to be stable. The baby remains in critical condition.
The driver was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Although the investigation remains ongoing, authorities believe one of the vehicles entered the intersection improperly.
