A former Paterson teacher was recently suspended for three years after he was accused of helping students cheat on tests.
The teacher - identified as Banmali Banjeree - in 2014 allegedly gave Eastside High's School of Government and Public Administration students answers by tapping on desks to suggest the correct responses on their High School Proficiency Assessment tests.
Once the school district was informed of the allegations, the Paterson Public Schools District suspended him without pay and filed charges against him.
Banjeree however reportedly resigned two months later.
He has since denied helping students with their tests and claims only offered students words of encouragement, according to the state.
