Hackensack Men Arrested on Drug Charges

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of two men Hackensack following a narcotics investigation.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office received information that Barry Hoffberg, 50, of Hackensack was distributing controlled dangerous substances in his Prospect Avenue apartment in Hackensack.

According to authorities, on Friday, police conducted a search warrant at Hoffberg's residence where officers seized suspected marijuana, cocaine, oxycodone, psilocybin mushrooms, Ecstasy, Suboxone, and drug paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled dangerous substances along with $5,751.00.

He was arrested without incident, and was charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Marijuana, in a quantity of one ounce or more but less the five pounds, one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Oxycodone, one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Psilocybin Mushrooms, and one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance.

Kevin Concannon, 44, of Hackensack, was also arrested for hindering his own apprehension and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, namely cocaine. He was charged with one count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance, namely Cocaine, and one count of Knowingly or Purposely Suppress, by way of Concealment, Evidence of the Crime.
