New Year, New Dreams for Paterson, Union Residents; Instant Lottery Game Players

Union Township (Union) Paterson

This month’s top-prize winner, Moyen Ali from Paterson in Passaic County, has been playing New Jersey Lottery Instant Games for the past four years. He’s enjoyed small wins along the way, including a recent $1,000 claim, but nothing that compares to this month’s win.

Ali enjoys various games and price points in the product line-up but now his favorite is certainly the 100X the Cash as it provided him with a $2,000,000 bounty. Ali said that he hopes to open his own business with the winnings. His lucky retailer is Delta Gas, 216 Redwood Ave., Paterson in Passaic County.

Congratulations to the retailer as well as they will receive a $30,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

Another lucky winner was Gloria Castro from Union. She claimed her $200,000 prize on Dec. 29, getting ready to begin the New Year with the funds to make her dreams come true. Her lucky retailer was Basic Food Mart, 498 Chestnut St., Union in Union County.

Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director said, “Congratulations to all of our top-prize winners and to the thousands of other Instant Games prizewinners throughout the state. New Jersey Lottery players won more than $99 million this month playing Instant Games.”

New Jersey Lottery retailers across the state are also winners. Selling Lottery provides retailers additional sources of revenue as they receive selling, winning ticket cashing and bonus commissions. NJ Lottery’s strong brand appeal offers a significant marketing attraction to engage new customers and keep Lottery fans coming back for their favorite entertainment.

Most significant is that Lottery revenue benefits educational programs and institutions, tuition aid grants, disabled veterans homes, school nutrition programs and so much more. In January, more than $31 million was generated from Instant Games in support of our beneficiaries.

Thus far in Fiscal Year 2017, Instant Games generated an estimated $224.3 million toward the funding of good causes. In total, the New Jersey Lottery has provided its beneficiaries more than a billion dollars in revenue.
