Police in Newark are investigating a reported vehicle that was stolen or possibly carjacked in a neighborhood in Newark overnight.
The incident happened in the single digit block off of Colonnade Place at around midnight when the driver of the vehicle was reportedly dropping off a customer according to initial reports.
A male suspect approached the vehicle, entered it, then sped away reports said.
It is not immediately clear if a weapon was produced at this time.
The vehicle is a black of dark colored 2017 Camry with NYC taxi license plate numbers according to reports.
The suspect reportedly sped towards the Route 280 entrance ramps.
There were no injuries reported.
Police are investigating.
