An overnight attempted burglary in Roseland had police on the search for a suspect.
Roseland Police, with the assistance from several other municipalities, set up a perimeter in the area of Eagle Rock Avenue and Monroe Avenue as they searched for a suspect who was wanted for attempted burglary to several vehicles.
Police were called to the area after receiving several reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area trying to break into cars.
Officers arriving at the scene spotted a vehicle with two suspects inside that reportedly sped away from officers.
A short pursuit had the suspects' vehicle crash; then a foot chase ensued where cops immediately apprehended a male suspect a short distance away.
The Essex County Sherrif's Department's K-9 unit was called in to assist in the search for a second suspect.
It is not immediately clear if officers ever located the suspect.
There were no injuries reported.
Police are investigating.
