Hillsborough Man Arrested for Burglarizing Newark Pharmacy

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of David Cardinale, 28, of Hillsborough, for burglarizing a Broad Street pharmacy today.

According to authorities, shortly after 2:00 a.m., police officers responded to the pharmacy’s burglar alarm.

After reviewing the pharmacy’s surveillance video, officers provided patrolling police with the suspect’s description authorities said.

He was located within minutes and taken into custody several blocks from the pharmacy. Police also recovered items taken during the burglary.

Cardinale is charged with Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Director Ambrose commends the arresting officers for their quick actions in apprehending the suspect. “These officers exhibited a solid commitment to taking the necessary steps to ensure this suspect was apprehended thereby making our neighborhoods safer,” he said.
