The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a pedestrian strike that caused fatal injuries to one person early this morning in the city.
The incident happened near the intersection of Avenue C and West 55th Street at around 4:30 a.m. where emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a person lying on the ground seriously injured.
Police and EMS arriving on the scene found the unconscious and unresponsive person at that location.
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at that site according to reports.
