Police in Mountainside is investigating a crash that sent a man to the hospital this afternoon.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Rt. 22 shortly before 1 p.m. where emergency responders were called to the scene after receiving calls for a crash with injuries.
Arriving rescue crews found the severely damaged vehicle with a trapped occupant inside.
Firefighters were able to extricate the victim then hand him over to EMS who made transport to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the car crashed into the rear of the truck.
There were no other injuries reported.
