The Plainfield Police Division have charged a 73-year-old male with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said Luis Acosta of Plainfield, and New Jersey was arrested and charged on January 26, 2017.
According to authorities, on two separate occasions in January, the victim, a 14-year-old juvenile was approached by Acosta in the 900 block of West Third Street, Plainfield.
On both occasions, Acosta attempted to lure the female juvenile into his vehicle.
Detective Mariline Acosta (no relation) and members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, Juvenile Section identified and apprehended Acosta.
Acosta was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (3rd Degree).
He is currently being held at the Union County Jail pending no bail.
