A Newark woman was arrested over the weekend after she allegedly assaulted a NJ Transit employee, police said in a statement.
According to police, Friday around
7:30 a.m., Sakinah Brydie, 40, of Newark, boarded a bus at Broad and Market streets when an argument ensued with the driver.
Brydie ultimately threw a hot cup of coffee in the driver's face, causing minor facial burns.
Brydie was apprehended after leaving the bus authorities said.
She was charged with aggravated assault on a bus driver, possession of drugs and failure to hand over the drugs to police.
She has since been released on her own recognizance.
