An early morning violent assault of a man and a woman in Irvington has township police investigating.
According to initial reports, the incident happened near a motel in the 50's block of Ball Street where police were called to the scene for an assault in progress report.
Upon officers' arrival, they located a female victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after being attacked then beaten by a suspect who was armed with a gun reports said.
Police also responded to the 1000 block of Springfield Avenue, near the Rite Aid, for a male who was pistol-whipped and robbed of personal items at that location.
The suspect reportedly took the keys to the victim's truck before fleeing from the scene.
It is not immediately clear if the incidents are related at this time.
There were no arrests reported.
