Police Arrest Armed Brothers Near Jersey City Shooting

Two brothers were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon among other charges after they were allegedly seen fleeing the scene of an overnight shooting.

Detectives responded to the area near Lexington Avenue shortly after midnight for a report of a shooting.

As police continued to process the scene, the victim -who remained at the scene- neglected to inform authorities that he was injured.

It was not until the victim arrived at Jersey City Medical Center in a private vehicle, that police discovered that the 30-year-old man had was shot in the ankle.

At the scene, investigators stopped a black Audi who they say was fleeing from the scene shortly after shooting.

A search led police to the seizure of a handgun.

The driver, 22-year-old John Infante, and the passenger, 18-year-old Jeyson Infante, we're both taken into custody.

Both suspects were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon.

They are expected to appear Friday before Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale for a hearing.
