Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that Route 22 Eastbound, from Hillside, has been shut down due to a six-car collision.
According to police, at approximately 6:45 a.m., a tractor-trailer jackknifed and has blocked all lanes at Frelinghuysen Avenue and Route 22, eastbound.
No critical injuries are reported.
Drivers should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes.
An update will follow when the roadway is reopened.
