Newark Teen Caught with Crack Cocaine, Xanax Pills, Loaded Gun

A teen boy caught with a loaded gun and drugs has been arrested.

Authorities announced the arrest of the juvenile who lives in Newark for possession of a loaded handgun and drug distribution last night.

According to police, at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the Newark Police Special Enforcement Bureau were patrolling the area of Seymour Avenue and West Runyon Street when they observed a male juvenile conducting a drug transaction with another male.

Officers approached, the two suspects who then began to run authorities said.

The male juvenile tossed a handgun before being apprehended.

Officers located the gun, a loaded .25 caliber handgun at the scene. The juvenile also had a bag containing 4 Xanax pills, 3 plastic baggies marijuana, 13 vials crack cocaine, a clear plastic wrapper of crack cocaine and $24.00 in cash.

The juvenile is charged with Possession of CDS (Xanax pills, marijuana and crack cocaine), Possession of CDS With Intent to Distribute, Distributing CDS Within 1,000-feet of a School, Distributing CDS Within 500-feet of a Park, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun), Possession of a Firearm While Committing a CDS Offense, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (defaced firearm) and Obstructing the Administration of the Law.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
