Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray have announced that authorities are investigating a motor vehicle crash in which a motorist ws fatally injured .
According to Prosecutor Murray, at approximately 10:46 p.m. last night, Irvington police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash that happened in the 700 block of Springfield Avenue.
Arriving units observed that two vehicles, a Honda and a BMW had collided Murray said.
The driver of the Honda was unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
He has been identified as Rabbiel Williams, age 32, of Montclair, NJ, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly.
The driver and passenger of the BMW were also injured.
They were transported to an area hospital where they were treated and released.
This incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes Task Force and the Irvington Police Department.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time, according to Fennelly.
