Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson reported a Camden man has admitted in court to a fatal shooting in 2014.
LaVonne Hinson, 27, pled guilty Monday to one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of 31-year-old Christopher Rivera of Pennsauken.
Christopher Rivera was found by Camden County Police Department inside a residence in the 1200 block of Thurman Street, Camden on Monday, September 29, 2014. He had been shot multiple times.
Under the terms of the plea agreement reached by Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Moran, Hinson will be sentenced to 16 years in state prison. He will be required to serve at least 13 years and 7 months of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Hinson is scheduled to be sentenced January 6, 2017 before Superior Court Judge Richard Wells.
