A raging two-alarm fire that ignited inside a house in Clark sent a firefighter to the hospital this afternoon according to authorities.
Heavy fire ripped through a two and a half story house located in the single digit block of Crescent Parkway just before 2 p.m. sending over a dozen firefighters to the scene where they observed fire coming form the upper floors of the house.
It took crews under an hour to bring the blaze under control according to reports.
A Union County Mutual Aid firefighter was transported to Rahway hospital after suffering an unrelated health issue, officials said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
UPDATE: Union County Fire Mutual Aid Coordinator (MAC 7) Chief Louis Kelly suffered a cardiac arrest while on scene working to help coordinate the fire attack.
He was immediately treated by ALS & BLS units on scene and transported to Rahway hospital.
He is currently sedated, being monitored and in stable condition.
