Irvington Man Beats Woman, Locked Her in the Trunk of Car in Newark

An Irvington man who beat a woman then locked her in the trunk of a car has been arrested in Newark.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reported the arrest of Kevin Little, 35, of Irvington, for assaulting a woman and locking her into the trunk of a parked vehicle last night.

Authorities said at approximately 8:17 p.m., police responded to a call involving a male striking a female on the street at South 20th Street and 19th Avenue.

When officers arrived, they heard screams for help coming from the trunk of a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville.

The officers forced the trunk open and found the 25-year old victim, who was transported to University Hospital for treatment.

Officers canvassing the area located Little, who is a suspect in this incident. He was arrested without incident and is charged with Aggravated Assault.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
