Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said today that two men and a woman have been arrested and charged with participating in a series of jewelry store break-ins that netted them nearly $1 million in stolen goods.
The three were arrested and charged on Dec. 6th, following an intensive investigation involving 17 law enforcement agencies from around the state.
The defendants have been identified as Michael A. Davis, 54, of Irvington, Terrance Worthy, 59, of Newark, and Keir A. Dargon, 35, of the Vauxhall section of Union Township.
Davis has been charged with six counts of burglary, Dargon was charged with two counts of conspiracy involving the burglaries at shops in Raritan and Hopewell, and Worthy was charged with one count of conspiring to commit a burglary at a jewelry store in Flemington.
Bail was set at $195,000 for Davis and $20,000 for Dargon. Worthy was released on his own recognizance.
During the investigation, it was determined that between June 7th and December 6, 2016, Davis participated in six burglaries of jewelry stores in Perth Amboy, Raritan, Lawrence, Denville, Flemington and Hopewell.
In each of the heists, Davis broke into stores in the early morning hours and took a variety of jewels and watches valued at nearly $1 million.
The defendants were arrested and charged during an intensive investigation in which 17 law enforcement agencies participated.
The investigation is active and is continuing.
