A year-long narcotics investigation led by Detective Martin Jedrzejewski ended yesterday when the Linden Police Department, assisted by members of the Roselle Police Department Narcotics Bureau, Union County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and Union County Prosecutors Office Guns, Gangs, Drugs, and Violent Crime Task Force, executed multiple search warrants on the 1300 block of Lincoln St.
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st Jabriladu Johnson of Linden, age 43, was arrested by officers when they observed him driving a 1997 Ford Pickup in the surrounding area.
Authorities said at approximately 10:10, officers entered residences at two locations.
Linden residents Omar Kimbrough, age 41, Andrew Julious, age 32, and Armeshia Stuckey, a 41 year old female from Richmond, V.A. were located in the first residence.
Linden residents Patrick Riley, age 66, Dorothy Riley, age 63, Lakisha Riley, age 42, and Charles Tiebout, age 39 were arrested at a second location.
There were no injuries reported at either location.
Julious, Kimbrough, and Johnson are charged with third-degree possession of CDS and associated third-and fourth-degree distribution of charges, as well as second- and third-degree charges for distribution of CDS in a park zone and school zone.
Each of the defendants also is charged with disorderly persons offenses for possession of prescription legend drugs, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Stuckey is charged with third-degree possession of Suboxone.
Patrick and Dorothy Riley are both charged with disorderly person offenses for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Tiebout and Lakisha Riley are each charged with fourth-degree possession of a weapon, as well as disorderly persons offenses for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Quantities of both powder and crack cocaine, prescription medication including Alprazolam, Buprenorphine, Oxycodone, and Suboxone, a stun gun, and brass knuckles with an attached dagger were recovered from the scenes, along with quantities of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, including packaging material, and $2,280 cash.
“The residents of this area have been victimized by this kind of criminal activity for too long,” said Det/Lt. Abdul Williams, the leader of the Linden Police Department Narcotics Bureau, who added that he couldn’t be prouder of his detectives “A lot of work goes into long-term investigations like this, but they are necessary to attack established criminal enterprises such as this, and we are fortunate to have such dedicated group of partners to make this community safe and drug-free.”
Julious, Kimbrough, and Johnson, were committed to the Union County Jail on $81,500 bail, along with Tiebout and Lakisha Riley, who were committed on $4,000 bail.
Stuckey, along with Patrick and Dorothy Riley, were released pending a scheduled Superior Court appearance on December 9th.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
