NEW BRUNSWICK -- There's an investigation underway near Rutgers University for a reported shooting that occurred at the intersection of Jones Avenue and Seaman Street.
The broad daylight incident happened when a man allegedly shot a handgun toward Commerical Avenue, authorities say.
The suspect is said to be wearing dark clothes and a wool cap by New Brunswick police.
A resident of the city told police the suspected shooter ran into the city away from the University after the gunshot.
Patrols have increased in the area although no on was hurt.
