DEVELOPING NEWARK: Crash Causes Power Outage, Injuries in Newark

Emergency responders and utility crew are on the scene of a crash that sent one person to the hospital and caused a power outage in the city's South Ward at this time.

The crash happened at around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Lyons Avenue and Fabyan Place where crews were called to the scene after a car crash into a pole causing a transformer to come down at that location.

The driver of the vehicle had to rescued from the vehicle after the collision caused them to become trapped according to eyewitnesses.

EMS transported the victim to an area hospital suffering serious injuries but is reported to be in stable condition at this time.

PSEG are on the scene attempting to restore power to the area .
