A Bloomfield man Wednesday pleaded guilty in court for his role as a supplier of a multi-million dollar Newark drug ring that was dismantled last year by the FBI.
Emmett Jones pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute a kilogram or more of heroin after the FBI arrested 15 alleged members of a heroin ring dealing out of a Johnson Avenue apartment building in November 2015.
According to investigators, Jones was the group's main supplier, who provided dealers with as much as 6 pounds of heroin a week.
In Jones' apartment on March 30, authorities seized 528 bricks of heroin, 70 pounds of marijuana and a loaded rifle. The estimated street value of the drugs seized was approximately $650,000, according to complaint.
Jones can face a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for March 15, 2017.
