Police in Newark chased and arrested a 31-year-old Newark man who was caught in the progress of burglarizing a home in the city.
According to police, at approximately 7:15 p.m on Thanksgiving Day, officers from the 1st precinct were dispatched to the report of a burglary in progress in the 300 block of Littleton Avenue.
Authorities said when officers arrived, they met with the victim who had just run from the house and was pointing to a fleeing suspect.
The suspect was apprehended at the intersection of 16th Avenue and South 16th Street after a brief foot chase police said.
The suspect had entered the house through an open window and was in the house when the victim returned home.
The victim called the police as she ran outside and alerted the arriving officers.
One of the arresting officers is being treated at University Hospital for minor injuries sustained during the arrest.
**Larry Braxton** is charged with burglary, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest by flight with additional charges pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.
