Police in Newark are investigating a weekend strong armed robbery that had a woman injured in the city's Ironbound section on Sunday.
The incident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday in the 40's block of Jackson Street where cops were called to the scene after receiving reports of a robbery in progress.
Units arrived to the scene to find a female victim who reported to them that two black male suspects approached her an began to assault her in the face before snatching her purse.
The men fled the scene onto Lafayette Street immediately after the incident.
The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects remain at-large.
