An armed carjacking where the suspects physically attacked their victim in Newark has police investigating.
The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. in the 500 block of South 17th Street where police were informed of a carjacking that involved two black male suspects who approached the victim armed with a gun and demanded the victim's vehicle.
According to reports, when the victim attempted to give up the vehicle to the suspects, one of the men began to strike the victim with the gun causing minor injuries.
The men made off with a maroon colored 2007 Pontiac with a reported NY license plate numbers "HDG-7463".
One of the suspects have been described as a light complexioned black male who was last seen wearing a dark colored Northface jacket according to reports.
