Authorities are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect in a bank robbery that occurred today.
Police said at approximately 1:15 p.m., Newark Police responded to Popular Community Bank located at 500 Bloomfield Avenue on a call of a bank robbery.
A male approached a teller and handed her a note demanding cash.
The teller complied and the suspect exited the bank headed onto North 11th Street.
Police are actively investigating this incident and have determined that the suspect, wearing a white shirt, black skull cap and black pants, may have entered a beige 4-door vehicle with another male inside.
While police are actively searching for the suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.
This investigation is continuing.
