Authorities in Union County are investigating a car fire that left a male victim dead in Rahway Friday night.
According to preliminary reports fro the scene, firefighters rushed to 1066 Westfield Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. after receiving calls reporting a vehicle fire near a house at that location.
Fire crews arrived to the scene where they swiftly extinguished the blaze but not before locating the badly injured victim.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital where they died a short time later.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
