Drug Investigation Leads to Arrests, Seizure of Drugs in Linden

Police announced the arrest of Linden residents Kyia Giles, 20, Jasline Philippe, 55, Michael Jean, 22, Terrence Pierre, 20 and Johanson Philippe, 20 were arrested on Friday, following a two month investigation by members of the Linden Police Narcotics Bureau.

Officers from the Roselle Police Department Narcotics Bureau and Union County Prosecutors Office Guns, Gangs, Drugs, and Violent Crime Task Force assisted in the execution of a search warrant on the 1100 block of Passiac Avenue. Officers reportedly entered the apartment at approximately 2:15 p.m., where they immediately located defendants Kyia Giles, a20, Jasline Philippe, 55, Michael Jean, 22, and Terrence Pierre, 20.

Defendant Johanson Philippe was located in the back of the apartment attempting to throw several bags of marijuana out of a window. A Victor .38 S&W Colt revolver was recovered from the scene, along with a quantity of suspected cocaine, Xanax, and marijuana.

Each defendant was charged with 2nd degree possession of a weapon during a CDS offense, 3rd degree possession with intent to distribute Xanax, 3rd degree unlawful possession of a weapon, 3rd degree possession of Cocaine/Xanax, 3rd degree possession with intent to distribute Cocaine, 4th degree distribution of marijuana, as well as disorderly persons possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug Paraphernalia.

“These arrests are a direct result of community members working with police to stop crime in their neighborhood” said Linden Police Captain William Turbett, Commander of the Investigative Division “That cooperation is vital to protecting our community.”

Johanson Philippe, Giles, Jean, and Pierre were committed to the Union County Jail on $150,000 bail.

Jasline Philippe was release on $75,000 bail pending a court appearance.
