Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that members of the Fugitive Apprehension Team (F.A.T.) have arrested George Aponte, 36, Edgar J. Ramirez, 25, and Silverio Perez, 37, each of Newark, in connection with a robbery that occurred on Friday, Oct. 14.
According to authorities, at approximately 1:20 a.m., a 29-year old male victim left a bar on North 7th Street with two men he met there to have drinks at another location. The three men entered a vehicle driven by one of the suspects, who ordered the victim out of the car in the 400-block of Lake Street.
The suspect and second passenger exited the suspect’s vehicle and demanded the victim’s money. A third male suspect exited another vehicle and all three began punching the victim, taking his cash and personal items.
As a result of their investigation, detectives determined that George Aponte, Edgar J. Ramirez and Silverio Perez are suspects in this robbery.
Arrest warrants were issued and F.A.T. detectives apprehended and arrested each suspect today without incident.
Aponte, Ramirez (not pictured) and Perez are each charged with robbery and conspiracy.
