There is a crime scene established at the intersection of Avenue C and West 36 Street as police investigate a pedestrian strike that injured an adult and a child this evening.
Preliminary reports on the scene had the adult male and the child struck by a vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. sending both victims to Jersey City Medical Center reports said.
According to residents in the area, the child suffered serious injuries.
Police would not immediately confirm nor deny the incident.
UPDATE 9:35 p.m. This is a child who is as young as 5-years-old with a serious head injury and his dad (around 35-years-old) who has a non-life threatening ankle injury.
