Authorities in Newark are investigating an early morning stabbing that left a woman seriously injured in Newark.
Police were called to the intersection of Johnson Avenue and West Peddie Street at around 3:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a person stabbed at that location.
Arriving units located the woman suffering multiple stab wounds that included injuries to her legs according to reports.
The woman was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where her injuries were reported as serious but she was listed in stable condition.
Police took a woman in custody and charged her with the brutal stabbing.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
